About Cockney Sparrow
Cockney Sparrow is a traditional river Thames passenger boat built at Eel Pie Island in 1976. The vessel has been regularly upgraded to meet modern safety standards & comfort & has now been carrying passengers for over 44 years.
The Sparrow operates regular sightseeing cruises between Westminster, Kew, Richmond & Hampton Court & is also a popular boat for private hire on the River Thames. She can accommodate up to 75 guests for a private cruise & her comfortable saloon & outdoor deck make her a very versatile vessel all year round.
Cockney Sparrow’s comfortable saloon has a fully licensed bar, bench seating, tables & chairs. The saloon has large windows providing plenty of natural light and excellent views of the riverscape. The aft deck has toilet facilities & space for catering, including a buffet or barbecue. The upper deck provides 360-degree views & seating, perfect for sightseeing & summer parties.
Cockney Sparrow is available for private hire from as far downriver as Greenwich Pier & as far upriver as Hampton Court Landing Stage (boarding / departure above Putney may incur an additional charge). The Sparrow’s open deck makes her an excellent choice for sightseeing tours & transfers from numerous locations including Hampton Court Palace, Richmond, the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, the City of Westminster, City of London & the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Cockney Sparrow is regularly hired for birthday parties & celebrations & is also available for special events including the Great River Race, Oxford & Cambridge Boat Race & New Year’s Eve.
